A teen was shot and killed and his parents were seriously injured after arguing over a gun inside the family's home on North Ridge Circle. Vail police responded to the two-story home just after 2 p.m. and found a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were taken to a hospital where the man later died of his injuries. Police were later able to determine that the bullet had hit the man's wife and a juvenile in the home. Police say the woman was visiting the home at the time. A preliminary investigation revealed that the wife and the juvenile had argued over the presence of a handgun inside the home. "I spoke with the individual who obtained the firearm and was disarming the firearm prior to the shooting," said Vail Police Sgt. Mike Mueller. "I spoke with the individual who fired the gun, and he had a history of mental issues, which he's taken medication for." The identity of the adult and the juvenile will not be released until further notification from the Eagle County District Attorney's Office. No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information should contact the Vail Police Department at 970-477-2911. -- Original story: UPDATE: A dispute over a gun turned
